Congress President Rahul Gandhi to Visit Germany, London From August 22

Gandhi will be interacting with students and media during his four-day visit to two countries.

New Delhi, Aug 16: Congress President Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Germany and London in August.  Overseas Congress Chairman Sam Pitroda confirmed the news on Twitter. Taking to the micro-blogging site, he tweeted, “Because of the high demand from NRIs and political, business, academia, Intellectuals and media in EU and UK, President of the @INCIndia Indian National Congress Mr. @RahulGandhi will be visiting Germany on Aug 22 & 23rd and London on Aug 24 & 25th.”

It is expected that Gandhi scion will be addressing large public event and interact with students and media. In the series of tweets, Pitroda tweeted, “It is believed that people abroad are very interested in listening to Mr. @RahulGandhi on the economy, employment, demonetization, security, developments and overall performance of the government and future obstacles, opportunities and challenges in India.” (ALSO READ: Rahul Gandhi Does in Again, Winks to Sachin Pilot During Jaipur Rally)

In this trip, Gandhi will meet a large number of Non-Resident Indians, professionals, businessmen and others and address two major meetings of the Indian Overseas Congress in Germany and London. He will also have separate interactions with young global leaders and students.

“Congress president Mr. @RahulGandhi started similar tours about a year ago to interact with global communities, NRIs and Indian Overseas Congress to understand, explore and promote India’s interest and aspirations. He first visited the US then Middle East, Singapore, and Malaysia,” read another tweet.

Gandhi undertook his first foreign visit in September last year, wherein he addressed the Indian diaspora in the United States on a plethora of issues including the economy and employment opportunities.

He had also travelled to Bahrain in January this year, and later to Singapore and Malaysia in March. Gandhi was also supposed to visit Japan in June, but the trip was later called off.
