New Delhi: In wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak, all cinema halls across Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad will remain shut till March 31. The announcement was made by the administrations of the two districts after 13 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Uttar Pradesh yesterday. The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has also ordered the closure of all gymnasiums in the district. The orders will be effective immediately, according to official statements. “All owners, operators and managers of cinema halls and gymnasiums in Gautam Buddh Nagar are directed to keep their facilities completely closed till March 31 in the public interest due to the situation caused by coronavirus,” District Magistrate Brajesh Narain Singh said. Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey said in case the situation vis-a-vis coronavirus improves before March 31, the closure order of cinema halls can be lifted. Non-compliance of the order attract legal proceedings against offenders.
Meanwhile, the number of novel coronavirus cases in the country rose to 110, with Maharashtra reporting the highest number of cases followed by Kerala. While Maharashtra has 32 positive COVID-19 cases, Kerala has 22 including the 3 patients, who have been discharged after their recovery.
