New Delhi: In the wake of the severe outbreak of coronavirus, all state government and the Centre announced a slew of measures to contain the spread of the virus. Huge mass gathering, sports events are being called off while schools, colleges, malls, gyms, swimming pools are also being shut down in various parts of the country. According to official figures, as stated by the Union Health Ministry, a total of 82 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including that of Delhi woman, have been reported in India thus far. Of these, 64 are Indian nationals, 16 are Italians and one a Canadian. More than 4,000 ‘contacts’ have been put under surveillance. The Supreme Court has decided to limit its functioning due to the novel coronavirus pandemic and hold a hearing of only six out of 15 benches on Monday. The six benches will take up for hearing only urgent matters and no persons, except lawyers concerned, will be allowed inside its courtrooms.
