Yadav, who was recently posted at the Dadri police station was the senior most officer in the 12-member team that conducted the rain on Monday in Nai Abadi area where sub-inspector Akhtar Khan was shot dead. The decision of suspending Yaday from police force was taken by the top most authorities of the Uttar Pradesh government. On Monday, police officials of Dadri police station had received information that some habitual criminals were hiding at a house in Nai Abadi in Dadri, which falls under the jurisdiction of Kot police station. Khan was first officer who knocked the door, where the suspects were hiding. According to an eyewitness account, as soon as the door got opened bullets started flying from the house that hit Khan on neck, following which he collapsed.
Report suggest that the raid was carried out in the absence of written order which further raises questions. Khan’s family has been asking for satisfactory answers and had also written for an independent probe.
Yameen Khan, brother of slain police officer reportedly said on Thursday, “If Uttar Pradesh police keep delaying the probe, we will stage a protest and demand a CBI enquiry in the matter”.
