Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli reinvent tourism brand

New Delhi, Aug 7: Two union territories  Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli on  Thursday released new tourism brand images to position themselves as attractive tourist destinations. Minister of Culture and Tourism Shripad Yesso Naik released the images and appreciated the “forward-looking” approach of the administration of the union territories.

“Many states and union territories are already well-known for their tourism potential, and have also been proactive in promoting their destinations across the nation as well as at the international level. But there are others that are now trying to make a beginning,” said Naik in a statement. Naik also said the two union territories shared their rich history with Goa.

However, he said that while Goa is a popular tourist destination, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli are yet to attract tourists as “people of India are still not aware about the tourist attractions”. “Very few people know that Daman and Diu are also endowed with excellent beaches and rich Portuguese heritage,” said Naik.

“Dadra and Nagar Haveli has lovely forests, lakes and gardens which make it an enviable destination to spend time with nature,” he added.
