Ahmedabad, Dec 13: Danilimda (SC), Sabarmati, Asarwa (SC), Daskroi, Dholka, Dhandhuka Assembly constituencies are set to witness a tough contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC) in the Gujarat Assembly elections 2017. Danilimda (SC), Sabarmati, Asarwa (SC), Daskroi, Dholka, Dhandhuka Assembly constituencies fall under Ahmedabad Lok Sabha constituency. All of these will go to polls on December 14, in Phase 2 of Gujarat Assembly elections 2017. The seats will see a tough fight amongst several independent, national and regional parties too.
Constituency number 54, Danilimda (SC) is reserved for the Scheduled Caste candidate. It will go to polls on December 14. The results on the same will be announced on December 18. In 2012, the seat was won by Shailesh Manubhai Parmar of the INC against BJP’s Girish Parmar. This year, the Congress has declared Parmar Shailesh Manharbhai as its candidates whereas, the BJP has announced Vaghela Jitendra Umakant (Jitubhai Vaghela) and the BSP has fielded Makwana Nehal Amrutbhai.
Constituency number 55, Sabarmati, was won by Arvindkumar Gandalal Patel of the BJP in 2012 against Patel Bharatkumar Govindlal (Bharat Vakil) of the Congress. In 2017 Gujarat Assembly elections, the Congress has fielded Dr. Jitubhai Patel from the seat whereas, the BJP and the BSP have declared Arvidkumar Gandalal Patel (Dalal) and Makwana Maheshkumar Kanjibhai as their candidates. The results on this seat will be announced on December 18.
Constituency number 56, Asarwa (SC), is reserved for Scheduled Caste candidate. It was won by Rajanikant Mohanlal Patel of the BJP in 2012 against Surajkar Mangalbhai Hirabhai (Mangal Surajkar) of the Congress. In 2017 Gujarat Assembly elections, the Congress has fielded Vaghela Kanubhai Atmaramfrom the seat whereas, the BJP and the BSP have declared Parmar Pradipbhai Khanabhai and Karsanbhai Danabhai Parmar (K.D. Parmar) as their candidates. The results on this seat will be announced on December 18.
Constituency number 57, Daskroi, will go to polls on December 14 and the results of the seat will be announced on December 18. The BJP has fielded Babubhai Jamnadas Patel as its candidate whereas, the Congress and the BSP have declared Patel Pankajbhai Chimanbhai and Patel Bhavinkumar Mahendra Kumar as theirs, respectively. The seat is currently held by BJP’s Babubhai Jamnadas Patel who had won it against Congress’s Baraiya Laxmanbhai Ambalal in 2012.
Constituency number 58, Dholka, will get a new leader on December 18. The seat will go to polls on December 14. It is currently held by Chudasama Bhupendrasinh Manubha of the BJP who had won it against INC’s Chavda Pradyumansinh Pratapbhai in 2012. This year, Bhupendrasinh Manubha Chudasama has been fielded by the BJP. The Congress and the BSP have declared Ashvinbhai Kamsubhai Rathod and Bhailalbhai Kalubhai Pandav as their candidates, respectively.
Constituency number 59, Dhandhuka, will go to polls on December 14. Its results will be announced on December 18. The seat is currently held by BJP’s Laljibhai Chaturbhai Kolipatel who had won it against the Congress candidate M M Shah in 2012. This year, the BJP has fielded Dabhi Kalubhai Rupabhai from the seat. The BSP and the Congress have declared Parmar Sunilbhai Laxmanbhai and Gohil Rajeshkumar Harjibhai, respectively.
Gujarat Assembly elections 2017 results for both the phases will be announced on December 18.
