Fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim is set to hang his boots on his 60th birth anniversary. The mafia kingpin, who will be celebrating his 60th birthday today at his secret Karachi residence is said to have decided his successor. The D-company, headed by Dawood is a US$ 60 billion outfit, with its business operations spread over 10 countries. A total of 50 properties are owned by Dawood and his lieutenants related to their business. Their total worth is Rs 3,000 crores approximately. In United Kingdom alone, at least 10 commercial properties are owned by Dawood whose collective worth is Rs 1,200 crores. The fray of members who could fill-in Dawood’s shoes includes 4 members – his long-time close aide Chhota Shakeel, and his three brothers Anees, Humayun and Mustaqeem. Two other brothers of Dawood – Iqbal Kaskar and Noor-ul-Haq are not among the probable candidates. While Noor-ul-Haq is dead, Iqbal has been deported to Mumbai way back in 2006, and currently placed under house arrest in Mumbai.
Former informants of D-company have hinted that the underworld empire will be inherited by Anees Ibrahim, who is among the good books of Dawood. His other two brothers Humayun and Mustaqeem are reportedly now much less involved in the criminal world.
Although, the reigns of D-company is now majorly managed by Chhota Shakeel, he would not be granted the top command. Similar to any other empire, Dawood would ensure that the utmost leadership remains within his family rank.
