New Delhi, December 21: Former BJP member and India’s one of the most famous lawyer Ram Jethmalani had decided to defend Aam aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal in the defamation case filed against him by senior BJP leader and Finance Arun Jaitley. The confirmation came on late Monday evening few hours after Jaitley filed a case in the Patiala House court on Monday morning.
The turf war between Aam Aadmi Party is growing day by day and due to it a structural crack among BJP leaders are visible easily.
The Patiala House court on Monday reserved the next hearing or the case, on January 5, 2016, for which Jethmalani had decided to personally appear in the court.
The war of words among AAP leaders and Arun Jaitley started after financial irregularities were found in Delhi District Cricket Association by BJP MP and former Kirti Azad, who took the matter to AAP. However on Monday after Kejriwal was accused of defaming senior BJP leader, Azad expressed displeasure that no case was filed against him. Jaitley had accused AAP leaders of issuing false and defamatory cases against him and his family members.
The defamation case has been filed against five AAP members, Ashutosh, Kumar Vishwas, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpai along with Arvind Kejriwal.
On Monday, Jaitley’s lawyer Siddharth Luthra presented the statements written by Kumar Vishwas and Raghav Chaddha, on social media. The Patiala court will hear the case at 2 pm on the given date. The case comes in the wake of the AAP leaders implicating Arun Jaitley of swindling crores of money from the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA).
