New Delhi, December 20: Three time legislator from Darbhanga district and a former international cricketer Kirti Azad exposed the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) scam by releasing the video done by Wikileaks4India and San Star National Hindi Daily. The 28-minutes video was released during the press conference held at Press Club of India on Sunday. Azad sought Enforcement Directorate to investigate the multi-million case.
Former cricketer not only claimed to expose the whole scam by the DDCA, but expressed his desire to invoke POCA and DRI against Union Minister Arun Jaitly who was also for DDCA since 2009. According to the video, several fake contracts were exposed which were assigned by the DDCA in last few years since 2008. The investigations were done by the DDCA on the basis of fake bills issued over a couple of years. Azad said that 14 fake companies have been involved whose bills were inflated by the cricket association. Briefing the media, Azad attacked president of DDCA Sneh Prakash Bansal for assigning fake tenders to companies which never existed. He said, “In order to get the details associated with this scam, I would suggest that an Enforcement Directorate should be brought into place for a fair probe.” Azad also said that Prevention of Corruption Act (POCA) and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) should be brought into place in order to get details of rampant corruption going on in the DDCA since 1990s. Azad added that the probe done by the Central Bureau of Investigation ignored the criminal aspect in 2003 and now it is time that these aspects should be taken care of.
