New Delhi: If social media campaign for elections got an impetus in Lok Sabha elections of 2014 and 2019, then Delhi Assembly Election 2020 will be remembered as a milestone of what can happen on social media during an election. From making funny memes with rival politicians to spreading fake videos — this election has seen it all. After the exit polls predicted a huge mandate for Aam Aadmi Party, this tweet of Karnataka BJP touched a different chord.

“Dear EVMs, You will more likely be blamed by many on 11th February. Please forgive them, because they don’t know what they will be saying or doing!!!” it tweeted taking a leaf out of Jesus Christ’s prayer during the crucifixion.

BJP leaders have rubbished the predictions of the exit poll. While Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said that all predictions will fail on February 11, Meenakshi Lekhi said that exit polls are not exact polls.

Meanwhile, the AAP in Delhi has strengthened vigil on EVMs apprehending manipulations with the EVMs. In MCD elections in 2017, AAP had alleged EVM foul play. It will still do the same, the tweet hinted, as the results will not match with the exit poll results. However, Twitteratis are questioning whether BJP has its plan of ‘EVM Hacking’ sorted to wrest Delhi from AAP.
