New Delhi: An 18-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped and murdered by a girl’s family members with whom he was in a relationship. The incident happened on Tuesday (October 23) in Haryana’s Kharkhoda when one Rakesh Kumar saw the girl getting out of the teenager’s Santro car in Delhi’s Bawana. Angered after seeing his sister, Kumar confronted the boy, thrashed him up, took him to a secluded spot in Kharkhoda and killed him.
To deceive the family, the girl’s cousin recorded a video and forced him to say that he was thrashed by some people owing to a personal rivalry. Kumar, along with his brother and a friend strangled the 18-year-old and dumped his body into a canal. They later torched his car.
The incident happened on October 23 when the accused saw the girl getting out of Sahil’s car. Kumar and his brother Manish stopped the car, dragged the boy out and thrashed him. Rakesh forced him into the rear of the car and drove to Sonepat in Haryana, where he met his friend Nitesh and another cousin Lokesh. The accused then stopped at a secluded place and thrashed him up.
When the girl’s family checked the video, they could see Rakesh Kumar appearing in it for a few seconds which led the police to suspect his involvement in Sahil’s disappearance. “After searching for the suspect for some time, they laid a trap at Bawana and nabbed him on Thursday additional CP Ajit Singla said. “In custody, Rakesh admitted to Sahil’s abduction and murder. He led us to the canal where the body had been dumped and also took us to Sahil’s car, which had been set on fire 2km from the murder spot,” he added.
