New Delhi, June 17: In yet another case of celebratory firing, a 27-year-old sub-inspector got injured in Delhi’s Rohini area on the night of June 15. The alleged incident took place at a birthday party which was being held in Rohini’s Samaypur Badli area. The sub-inspector identified as Harish received bullet injuries and was critical. One of the bullets hit him in the chest, and another in his shoulder. He was admitted to the Saroj Hospital.
As per reports, Harish had gone to attend his friend’s daughter’s birthday party that night during which he was injured. Harish’s uncle who was also present in the party, said there was celebratory firing during which bullets might have deflected and hence the unfortunate incident took place. Meanwhile, Harish’s father said that he was waiting for his son to get up from the hospital bed and narrate what exactly transpired. He added,”We can’t blame anyone at the moment as all of them are known to us.”
However, a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 307 (attempt to murder) has been registered. On the other hand, none from Harish’s family has blamed anyone as the people at the party were known to the sub-inspector. Harish is posted at the Shahbad Dairy police station.
