New Delhi: A 44-year-old man was stabbed in West Delhi after being involved in an argument over the choice of songs being played at a Durga Puja pandal, Times of India reported. The deceased identified as Riyaz had gone to a pandal when three of his friends and him engaged in a squabble over the choice of music. According to police, one of the friends, in a fit of rage, stabbed Riyaz with a knife. After which, Riyaz was taken to a nearby hospital and then transferred to Safdarjung hospital. The three accused Vinay, Manoj and Mahesh have been arrested by the police and a case under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section of 302 (murder) has been lodged against them. Further, the police found out that all the three accused have a criminal record. There were also past cases registered against the victim. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the matter and trying to analyse the video footage for more clarity on the matter.

In another incident, the bodies of a couple and their daughter were found with stab injuries at their residence in Kishangarh area of southwest Delhi’s Vasant Kunj. The victims were attacked with a kitchen knife. The couple’s son Suraj sustained injuries on his finger, police said.

After being informed about the incident, police reached the three-room house at 5.20 AM, and identified the victims as Mithlesh Verma, his wife Siya Verma and their daughter Neha. The weapon used for the commission of the crime has been recovered, the police added.
