Delhi Assembly Election 2020: ‘Exit Polls Also Mean Manoj Tiwari’s Exit as Delhi BJP Chief,’ Says AAP
AAP Greater Kailash MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj was responding to Manoj Tiwari's claims that the BJP would win 48 seats in the Delhi Assembly Election. Tiwari's 'bold prediction' had come despite all exit polls forecasting a comfortable majority win for the AAP.
New Delhi: AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj on Saturday took a jibe at Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari after the latter claimed that the BJP would win 48 seats in the Delhi Assembly Election, saying that the exit poll, in fact, meant that Tiwari will get an exit as the Delhi BJP chief.
Tiwari’s ‘bold prediction’ had come despite all exit polls forecasting a comfortable majority win for the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). “All exit polls will fail, keep my tweet safe. BJP will form the next government in Delhi with 48 seats. Please don’t already start looking for excuses to blame EVMs,” he had tweeted.
Responding to this, Bhardwaj, the AAP’s sitting MLA from Greater Kailash, said, “The exit poll has two meanings. The first is that it is the exit poll for the Delhi Elections 2020 and the other is that it is an exit poll for Manoj Tiwari.”
“He will soon get an exit as the Delhi BJP chief and he knows this very well,” he added.
The BJP has continued to exude confidence despite the exit polls, with the party calling it just an exit poll and not an ‘exact poll.‘ The party even claims that Chief Minister Kejriwal will lose from his constituency of New Delhi.
Earlier on Saturday, votes were cast for the single-phase Delhi Assembly Election with the voter turnout being just over 60%, less than that during the previous Assembly polls, in 2015.
Counting of votes and result declaration will take place on February 11.
