New Delhi: Ahead of Delhi Assembly election 2020, Samir Dwivedi, son of senior Congress leader Janardan Dwivedi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday. Dwivedi joined the saffron party in the presence of BJP general secretary Arun Singh.

“I am joining a political party for the first time… I chose the BJP as I was inspired by the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Samir Dwivedi said.

When Janardan Dwivedi, a veteran Congress leader and party’s general secretary for a decade was asked to comment on his son joining hands with his arch rival BJP, he said,”I have no information about this, If he is joining BJP then it is his independent decision.”
In the past Janardan had hogged the limelight after he was snapped sharing stage with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat at a religious event.
