Counting of votes for the 2020 Delhi Assembly Election began at 8 AM on Tuesday, with trends indicating a comprehensive win for CM Arvind Kejriwal’s government. (Delhi Assembly Election 2020 news)
Rajesh Gahlot of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Sumesh Shokeen of Congress. Yadav, in fact, is just the third MLA from this constituency as it was formed as a part of the implementation of the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted in 2002.

Matiala, Delhi’s ‘biggest’ constituency, is one of the ten constituencies that together make up the West Delhi Lok Sabha seat, held currently by the BJP’s Parvesh Verma.
Interestingly, Yadav’s rivals Gahlot and Shokeen are the second and third MLAs, respectively, from this seat, having won in 2013 and 2008 respectively. In 2015, Yadav defeated Gahlot to bag this seat from him, winning 1,27,665 votes with his rival winning just 80,661 votes.
The AAP currently has 67 seats in the 70-seat Delhi Assembly, which it won in the previous Assembly Election here, in 2015. The BJP, which has the remaining three seats, has been tipped by the exit polls to improve its tally but by not enough margin to challenge the AAP.
The Congress, meanwhile, which drew a blank in 2015, has been tipped for yet another disastrous show this time around.
