Delhi Assembly Election Exit Poll Results: How And When to Watch LIVE Streaming on Zee News

The Election Commission of India had issued a notification restricting media houses to conduct or publish any exit poll during assembly elections in Delhi on February 8.

New Delhi: As soon the voting for all the 70 Assembly constituencies in national capital will conclude around 6:30 PM, all eyes will be glued to the TV screens for exit polls which will give a clear picture of what the people of Delhi have decided for the next 5 years.

Several pollsters including Chanakya, Axis, Neilsen and others will come up with their post-poll predictions. Earlier on Wednesday, the Election Commission of India had issued a notification restricting media houses to conduct or publish any exit poll during assembly elections in Delhi on February 8.

“Election Commission of India, in exercise of the powers under sub-section (1) of Section 126 of the Representation of the the Peoples Act, 1951 has notified the period between 8 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on February 8, 2020 (Saturday) as the period during which conducting any exit poll and publishing or publicizing the result of exit poll by means of the print or electronic media or in any other manner shall be prohibited in the ongoing General Election to the Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi, 2020,” the Commission had said.

Further, under Section 126(1)(b) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, displaying any election matter including results of any opinion poll or any other poll survey, in any electronic media, would be prohibited during the period of 48 hour, the EC added.

Polling began at 8 AM amid tight security arrangements with long queues seen in several polling stations to seal the fate of 672 candidates in the fray to elect a new government.

In the election, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is making a bid to return to power, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is seeking to get its Chief Minister in Delhi after 20 years. The Congress, which had ruled Delhi for 15 years, is expecting a resurgence in its vote share.
