Delhi Assembly Elections: AAP releases first list of 11 candidates, fields Brahm Singh Tanwar from Chattarpur

The Aam Aadmi Party has released first list of eleven candidates to contest for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections on Thursday.

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party has released first lists of eleven candidates for the upcoming Delhi assembly election on Thursday. The assembly polls are scheduled to take place in February next year. This decision came after AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal held a party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting today at his residence in New Delhi.

Taking to the X, ANI posted, ‘AAP releases the first list of 11 candidates for 2025 Delhi elections. Former BJP leaders Brahm Singh Tanwar, Anil Jha and BB Tyagi as well as former Congress leaders Chaudhry Zubair Ahmad, Veer Dhingan and Sumesh Shokeen who joined AAP recently also included in the list.’

The first list includes 11 candidates out of which six candidates joined party from Congress to Bharatiya Janata Party. Here is the full list of 11 candidates contesting for Delhi Assembly Elections 2024.

In the last Delhi assembly elections held in February 2015,  the Aam Aadmi Party secured a majority of votes and won 62 seats out of 70 seats. The  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 8 seats while Congress struggled to open their account. After the elections, the Aam Aadmi Party formed the state government, with Arvind Kejriwal becoming Chief Minister.
