New Delhi: State BJP president Manoj Tiwari had asked AAP supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme in national capital to help the poor get the benefits of the health scheme launched by Narendra Modi-led government. “On the World Health Day, I request the chief minister to implement Ayushman Bharat launched by the Narendra Modi government, which ensures free treatment for poor up to Rs five lakh per annum so that the poor of Delhi also get the benefit of the scheme,” Manoj Tiwari said in a tweet on Sunday. The Delhi BJP chief had addressed a public meeting in North East Delhi’s Burari. On Saturday, Tiwari had taken out a march from Jantar Mantar to Connaught Place, demanding the implementation of the scheme. In a separate event, Tiwari accused the Congress of defeating the vision of Baba Saheb Ambedkar by using Dalits as its vote bank and neglecting them during its rule.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of World Health Day, the Delhi traffic police set up an awareness campaign on road safety rules including the significance of the golden hour and Good Samaritan laws. The road safety rules describe the golden hour as the first precious hour after a road accident takes place. The people who help the victims during this golden time will be hailed as good Samaritans. In a statement, the Delhi traffic police stated that people were sensitized about the harmful effects of pollution on health.
