New Delhi: Police arrested three persons including a disc jockey (DJ) for opening firing at two persons after a scuffle broke out between them. The incident took place on Sunday in the national capital. The scuffle broke out over the song selection and requests to play a song repeatedly. According to the police, the incident occurred on Sunday night around 10.24 p.m at a family function in west Delhi’s Palam Village. Shanky Bhardwaj and his cousin brother Tushar Bhardwaj were insisting Akshay, the DJ, to play the song “Tamanche Pe Disco…” repeatedly, which led to a fight between them. Akshay, 19, later informed his employers, Sanjay Sharma, and Ashish Sharma. They came and fired at Shanky, 23, and Tushar, 16.

The accused managed to escape, the officer said, adding that the victims suffered bullet injuries in their abdomen. The police team reached the spot and found Shanky and Tushar Bhardwaj lying in a pool of blood, Deputy Commissioner of Police Devender Arya said.

“They were taken to a hospital in Dwarka where they are still undergoing treatment. Their condition is out of danger as per the doctors,” Arya said.

Akshay and his employers Sanjay, 29, and his brother Ashish, 23, were arrested on Monday from their hideouts in west Delhi in separate police raids, said the Joint Commissioner of Police.

On November 2, Delhi police had arrested three accused in the murder of a 38-year-old teacher named Sunita. Sunita was shot dead in Bawana area of the national capital in the broad daylight.

On October 29, Sunita was killed after being shot by unknown assailants while she was on her way to school in the morning. She received three bullet injuries- two in the chest and one in the stomach- and died on the way to the hospital.

Amongst the arrested were 38-year-old Manjeet, husband of the deceased and a resident of Bawana village who is accused of hatching the murder plot of his wife. Further, the cops also arrested the 26-year-old model and a man, Rajeev, a co-conspirator in the case, who is reported to be the model’s father.
