New Delhi, May 29: Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu has asked the police to take the ‘strongest action possible’ against those who killed an e-rickshaw driver in Delhi for stopping two men from urinating in public. Ravinder Kumar, an e-rickshaw driver in Delhi, was beaten to death after he tried to stop two men from urinating in public on Thursday. Kumar was a parking attendant and an E-Rickshaw driver working at a stand in North-West Delhi. According to reports, Kumar had raised objections after he saw two men urinating on the road near his e-rickshaw stand. The men got angry and threatened to teach him a lesson. They came back in the evening with a gang and beat up Ravinder Kumar, said his brother Vijender Kumar.

After being beaten up, Kumar went to his home without any visible injury on his body and informed his family about the incident reportedly. However, the same night, Ravinder Kumar fell unconscious and complained about chest pain, following which his family rushed him to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

A senior police official from a local police station said that police teams have been formed to arrest them and investigations are on. The police have also spoken to a few eye-witnesses of the incident.
