New Delhi: Four armed men robbed two police cops- constable Virender and Assistant Sub Inspector Anil of their mobile phones, while they were returning home on Friday night. One of the cops immediately brought the matter to notice of nearby PCR vans; they also conveyed information regarding the vehicles robbers came in. Later, the team spotted the vehicles. They tried to intercept both the vehicles, but one managed to flee, DNA reported. The team arrested the occupiers of the vehicles, though, the driver managed to run away. “Four men possessing arms came out of a vehicle and threatened the officers to hand over their car keys. The officers resisted after which a scuffle ensued and the accused managed to rob the officers’ mobile phones before fleeing,” DNA quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police (Police Control Room) SD Misra as saying. Further, the police also found a man tied to the vehicle’s back seat.
A probe into the matter revealed that the car belonged to the man who was tied to the back seat. The car was stolen from Mundka, and the robbers kidnapped the driver. The police also recovered two guns, a country-made pistol, a revolver and eleven cartridges from the car.
