New Delhi: Heavy showers and thunderstorm lashed Delhi early Tuesday morning. Heavy rains brought respite from the humidity and scorching heat.

Heavy rain accompanied with lightning was reported around Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Teen Murti Bhavan and R.K. Puram among other areas in the national capital. Following the deluge, streets in Palam Mod and Dhaula Kuan remained waterlogged.

A Meteorological (MeT) department official had said that the weather will remain cloudy today and moderate rain and thundershowers will hit the region.

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rain at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan, Goa, Telangana and Coastal Karnataka will occur today.
