New Delhi: A French teenager has alleged that the father of an Indian student has sexually assaulted her at his house in Delhi. The victim had come to India as a part of the student exchange programme. According to the complaint, the student was allegedly harassed by her host on October 18 evening.

The registration of a case in this regard was confirmed by the Joint Commissioner of Police (southern range) Devesh Srivastava. The police have also begun their investigations to track the accused. Meanwhile, the French Embassy has been informed and is in touch with the victim’s family members, stated a French spokesperson.

According to a report by The Indian Express, the French girl visited India on October 13 and was assigned to stay with an Indian student whose parents received her at the airport. A day after the incident took place, the victim narrated the ordeal to her classmates when they were on their way travelling to another city. She had also informed about the incident to the female staff in the group. A French teacher soon sent an alert to the Embassy regarding the mishap and informed the girl’s parents as well, said police.
