New Delhi, May 31: A mentally unstable man was found living with his father’s body in Delhi’s Nihal Vihar. The 33-year-old man had been lying next to his 65-year-old father’s body, Satpal Singh, for three consecutive days at their one-room house. The incident came to light when stench emanated from the house and neighbours informed the police about it. The police rushed to the place and found the man lying next to his father. The mentally unstable man, Karamjeet Singh said that his father was sleeping and had not eaten anything for the last three days. He also said that he tried waking up his father but since he didn’t answer, he didn’t wish to disturb his father any further. He added that he thought Singh was asleep and so he sat alongside and had food. The Police too confirmed that the man was mentally unstable as he asked the police personnel not to disturb his father when they were removing his body from the room. Additional DCP (outer) RS Sagar said that the neighbours thought Karamjeet had murdered his father Satpal Singh and hence they made a call to the police. The police said the time of death was found out when Singh’s body was rushed to the hospital. The police suspect no foul play in Singh’s death and ruled a natural death. Singh and his son had been living there for last few years after his daughters were married.
