Iliyas, a resident of Shiv Vihar, also contested in the 2020 Delhi Assembly polls from Karawal Nagar on a ticket from SDPI.

The development comes after the Enforcement Directorate booked suspended Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor Tahir Hussain and registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act against radical Islamic organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) for financing anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests across the country.

Parvez and Illiyas are likely to be produced before Delhi’s Patiala House Court later.

On Monday, the Delhi Police Special Cell had arrested PFI member Mohd Danish for spreading false propaganda during anti-CAA protests. The police also charged him with circulating money to fund anti-CAA protests across the national capital.

A day earlier, a Kashmiri couple allegedly linked to the Islamic State’s Khorasan module was held for instigating anti-CAA protests in Delhi.
