New Delhi: The special cell of Delhi Police arrested Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist Sajjad Khan, a close aide of Pulwama terror attack mastermind Mudassir Khan on late Thursday. According to reports, Sajjad Khan (27), who had been hiding in the national capital since the Pulwama attack was arrested from Lajpat Nagar.


“Muddasir, the mastermind of Pulwama attack was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir recently,” Pramod Singh Kushwah, Deputy Commisisoner of Police (Special Cell) said. Sajjad was tasked by Mudassir to establish a sleeper cell in Delhi, the officer added.

Sajjad Khan is reported to have been in touch with Mudassir and other Jaish terrorists from Pakistan via an app that uses fake numbers.

23-year-old Mudassir Ahmed Khan was killed in early hours of March 12 in south Kashmir’s Pulwama after engaging in an intense gunfight with security forces. Reportedly, Mudassir Khan was the one who provided the SUV and the explosives to suicide bomber Adil Ahmed Dar for the Pulwama attack.

The Jaish-e-Mohammed engineered attack on CRPF personnel in Pulwama on February 14, claimed 40 lives and injured five others.
