New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a Delhi police constable Suresh allegedly committed suicide by shooting with his service gun on Monday, news agency ANI reported. He was on duty at the police control room in Dayalpur when the incident took place.

Reportedly, a suicide noted was found. Preliminary inquiry of police has revealed that he was in depression after his father’s death.

Last year, a Delhi Police head constable had committed suicide by shooting himself with his service pistol in the premises of Delhi Secretariat.  The head constable, identified as Sohanveer Singh (35), reportedly shot himself while he was on duty.

Briefing media about the incident, Delhi Police had said, “Head Constable Sohanveer, aged 35 years, committed suicide, on duty at Secretariat, by his service pistol. A suicide note has been recovered, indicating domestic discord as the prima facie reason of the suicide.”

According to police sources, Singh was beaten up by his in-laws some days back in full public view, and some people even made a video of the same. In his suicide note, Singh had mentioned that the family members of his wife are influential people.
