Delhi Air Pollution LIVE: The National Capital woke up to hazardous air on Monday morning (December 22, 2025), with a thick layer of smog reducing visibility across large parts of the city. In response to the deterioration in air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) implemented all measures under Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) across Delhi-NCR. Today’s AQI in the national capital remains 365 at 05:05 AM, with four stations falling under the “severe” category, marking an air quality index of 400+. For days now, flights from Delhi airport has been affected with over 50 flights being cancelled or delayed everyday due to decreased visibility amid smog as well as dense fog across the city.
Delhi Minister Majinder Singh Sirsa on Monday said strict enforcement measures under GRAP-IV have yielded positive results, even as the national capital continues to reel under adverse weather conditions due to a western disturbance.
The GRAP-IV restrictions include a ban on specific vehicles from entering Delhi, school closure, offices to run on a 50 per cent WFH module in government and private offices, and closure of non‑emergency commercial activities.
Delhi government imposed GRAP-IV restrictions earlier this month, when the average AQI crossed the 400 mark. The government hence invoked all actions as envisaged under the GRAP 4, with immediate effect.
The Sameer app showed a warning for the Delhi people, stressing, “Air quality is very poor and can cause respiratory illness on prolonged exposure.”
