Delhi: Retired Lieutenant Colonel Arrested For Allegedly Molesting 8-year-old Girl

A retired Lieutenant Colonel was arrested from Delhi for allegedly molesting an 8-year-old girl on Wednesday.

New Delhi, Jun 13: A retired Lieutenant Colonel was arrested from Delhi for allegedly molesting an 8-year-old girl on Wednesday. He has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

“A retired Lieutenant Colonel arrested from Delhi’s Dwarka for allegedly molesting an 8-year-old girl. He has been booked under POCSO Act,” a tweet posted by news agency ANI read.

Earlier in April, a case was registered against an Army officer for allegedly assaulting his wife. The woman in her complaint to the police alleged that she was assaulted by the Lt Colonel after returning from a party on the night of April 4.

A case was registered at Delhi Cantt Police Station on April 8, the police had said.

The woman alleged in her complaint said, “Immediately after wedding I discovered his violent nature against certain issuse. I have been subjected to continuous verbal, mental and physical assault.”

The couple got married in November 2004 and has two daughters, aged 11 and eight. The family stays at Urban Village in Delhi cantt.

The complainant also alleged that the accused “doubted her character” and asked for divorce. “He has always doubted my character…….recently he started asking for divorce,” she said in her complaint.

Claiming that she feared for her life and well being of her daughters, the complainant said that her in-laws were privy to the whole incident but never helped her.
