New Delhi, Nov 24: Rs 2 lakh was robbed from parked car of Yashwant Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Uttar Pradesh, on Friday in New Delhi. Unidentified men took away the cash from the BJP MP’s car parked in Chandni Chowk area.

A complaint regarding the matter has been filed at the police station and a probe has been launched. Meanwhile, more details are awaited in the case.

In a similar incident, the blue Wagon R used by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was stolen – from right outside the government’s headquarters in the national capital in October. However, the car was recovered within days. Hours after the blue WagonR car was recovered, the police said that the car was parked 200 metres from the authorised parking lot outside Delhi Secretariat and “lacked any anti-theft devices” such as a steering lock, gear lock or a global positioning system.

The Wagon R, gifted by an Indian living abroad, was used by the Chief Minister to camp and sleep in during a controversial protest against the Delhi Police in 2014.
