New Delhi: Six persons died as the roof of a factory collapsed in national capital’s Moti Nagar on Thursday, DCP West Delhi confirmed to new agency ANI. Eight persons have been rescued and sent to the hospital. The relief and rescue operations are currently underway as several others are feared trapped under the debris. The factory is located at Sudarshan Park.

The roof of the factory, where fans were used to be manufactured, reportedly collapsed following an explosion in a compressor. Several reports suggest that the incident happened after LPG cylinder explosion.

“The building comprises ground and the first floors,” Monika Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), was quoted as saying in a report.

The fire department received a call about the collapse at around 8.45 pm and four fire tenders, along with ambulances, were rushed to the spot, the officer said.
