New Delhi, August 22: A son of an electrician got an offer of an annual package of over $100,000 (Rs 70,00,000) from an American firm, TOI reported. The son is a diploma holder from Jamia Millia Islamia. Further, it is the highest package that has ever been offered to Jamia diploma holder. Also, his father works as an electrician at the institution.
Ali had a good score in JMI school board examination, but could not qualify for Jamia’s BTech course. Later, he got through an architecture course at NIT Jharkhand, but couldn’t join due to financal issues. Finally, in 2015, he sought admission at Jamia for a diploma in mechanical engineering.
Ali told the leading daily, “Charging institutions for electric vehicles is a major challenges in India. I developed a theory. If I succeed, the cost of chaging vehicles will be almost zero. But initially, my teachers didn’t believe me as it was a new area of work. However, assistant professor Waqar Alam finally realised his potential and guided me.” Later, he made a prototype of his reserach and showcased it in one of the melas orgainzed by the institution. After successive promotion, Ali’s project was uploaded on the university’s website.
American orgainsation Frisson Motor Werks in Noth Carolina, impressed by the idea, contacted the university to offer a job to Ali, to work on the idea in the US as a battery managemnet engineer. Ali’s father said, “We always advised him to work hard and pursue his interests. Today, it has borne fruit and I am very happy for him.”
