According to a report of Indian Express, Evwrirhe Isaac, one of the victims, was attacked by a group of 12 young men with cricket and baseball bats and assaulted him and his friend brutally. “They were hitting me… I pleaded with them to spare my life. I somehow managed to free myself and ran towards the balcony. They chased me and pushed me from the second floor of the building,” said Isaac. His roommate Abdul said, “I kept telling them that I was not with Isaac during the incident, but they did not stop.”
“A case has been registered at Uttam Nagar police station under several sections of the Indian Penal Code,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Pushpendra Kumar.
Isaac, who has been in India for eight years and has played for leading football clubs says that racial comments are his daily dose in the national capital. But he believes that what happened with him on Sunday was inhumane and more than racist.
