New Delhi, September 7: On September 9, the fate of Student Union leader will be decided in Delhi University as the most awaited election of the student body will be held on Friday within the varsity campus. Among the key contenders Nikhil Yadav of NSUI and a 1st year LLB student is among the favourite contenders for Delhi University Students Union Election is followed by Kawaljeet Kaur, 1st year LLB student who is contesting election from AISA.
In order to keep things right, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh student’s wing, ABVP, leader Amit Tanvar is also contesting the elections and AISF-SFI youth leader Navjeet Puniya is also trying his luck this time. It seems that Kanhaiya effect can be seen in the recent Delhi University elections, which is taking place exactly seven months after the arrest of JNUSU president. The much-awaited student’s body election will be conducted on September 9 and the results will be out on same day. National Students’ Union of India:
The National Students’s Union of India (NSUI) is the student wing of the Indian National Congress party which was established on April 9, 1971. The organisation was founded by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by merging the Kerala Students Union and Chattra Parishad to form a national students’ movement.
All India Students Association:
AISA was founded on 9 August 1990. It is the student wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation. Since its formation, AISA has made a significant presence in DU and JNU both.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad:
Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad is affiliated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), parent ideologue of BJP. ABVP claims to be world’s largest student organisation with more than 3 million members.
Students Federation of India:
The Students Federation of India was founded in 1970 which has a membership strength of about 43 lakhs among school and university students. Famous student union leader Dr Vikram Singh leads SFI at the national level, while VP Sanu holds the post of President and General Secretary.
