The father of the deceased IB staffer, Ravinder Sharma, has alleged that Hussain was responsible behind the death of his son. Tahir Hussain has, however, categorically refuted the allegations, maintaining that he himself was trapped inside his house when the violence broke out in the north-east Delhi.

In a video doing rounds on social media, Tahir Hussain could be seen saying that a mob took over his house and used it to launch attacks. During all this, he said, he and his family were sent away to a different location. He has not returned to his house since, he added.
