Earlier, Delhi Police had recovered a pistol and the car in which he had fled from the spot after opening the fire at police. Police said that soon after the incident, he kept roaming around the national capital and then he went to Punjab and later to Uttar Pradesh from where he was arrested.
During the police investigation, Shahrukh revealed that he had used his uncle’s car during the Delhi violence. However, he had left the car in a garage in Haryana after it broke down, he said.
However, the police have yet not been able to establish his association with any gang. A video of him pointing gun at Delhi Police Head Constable Deepak Dahia had gone viral during the communal riots in northeast Delhi last month.
Police had registered a case against him under Section 186 and 383 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act.
