New Delhi, June 23: A 30-year-old woman was on Saturday found dead in the Brar Square in south-west Delhi, near the cantonment area, news agency ANI reported. The agency further reported that the woman was identified as the wife of an Indian Army Major. She reportedly left home at 10 am to undergo a physiotherapy session at the Army Base Hospital in Delhi Cantt. However, after half an hour, she was found dead. Further, police have launched a probe into the matter.

The woman was dropped by an office vehicle assigned to the Major. However, when the driver went for her pick up, he was told that the woman had not turned up for the physiotherapy, NDTV reported. Later, a passerby informed the police about the body lying on the street. The police rushed to the spot and found the body of a woman with a slit throat. The police immediately informed the Major about the incident.

Further, it was found that the body had marks of being run over by a vehicle. The police believe that the woman was first murdered with her throat slit and then run over by the murderer.
“We received a call for an accident but later found injuries on her neck. We are registering a murder case. We have solid clues about the accused. Her husband identified her,” senior police Vijay Kumar told the news channel. Further, the police have sent the body for a post-mortem.

Yesterday, a disjointed body of a woman was recovered by police in south-east Delhi’s Sarita Vihar. The body was found stuffed inside a tow sack on Thursday morning. The identity of the woman has not been ascertained yet, but an initial probe suggests that the woman was in her thirties. Further, a team has been formed to investigate the matter. Sarita Vihar Police Station received a PCR call and they informed the police that two unknown bags were lying at the roadside near Haji colony. The police immediately rushed to the spot and discovered the bag with a human body in it. The body’s hands and limbs were found dismembered, the report said.
