New Delhi, Apr 26: Delhi on Thursday recorded the season’s hottest day with the mercury settling at 42 degrees Celsius. The humidity levels oscillated between 88 and 26 per cent.

As per the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature of the national capital was recorded at 42 degree Celsius, three notches above normal. On the other hand, the minimum temperature was recorded at 23.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above season’s average.

The MeT Department has predicted the skies to remain partly cloudy on Friday. Adding further, it said that a thunderstorm is likely later in the day.

Earlier on Wednesday, the minimum temperature in the national capital settled at 20.8 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature was recorded at 41 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, heat wave sweeped Maharashtra with temperature recorded to be above 40 degree Celsius in several parts. The maximum temperature in Malegaon, Jalgaon, Nanded and Parbhani was recorded at 43 degree Celsius.
