DMK President M Karunanidhi to Remain in Hospital For 2-3 Days, His Condition Stable as of Now

Talking to reporters, DMK leader A Raja said Karunanidhi’s blood pressure went down and hence he was shifted to the hospital. “His blood pressure is now normal and there is nothing to worry,” Raja informed media.

New Delhi, July 28: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president M Karunanidhi condition has been reported to be stable as of now. However, he would remain in hospital for 2-3 days. It must be noted, he was admitted to Kauvery Hospital at around 1:30 AM on Saturday after a sudden drop in blood pressure.  A top official of the hospital said that the 94-year-old leader is undergoing treatment in hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

A medical bulletin from the hospital said that the veteran leader’s blood pressure has been stabilised with medical management and he is being treated by a team of expert doctors.

Meanwhile, a large crowd of supporters have gathered outside his residence as well as the hospital. On July 18 Karunanidhi had undergone a procedure at a hospital in which a tracheostomy tube was replaced by a new one.

Earlier on Friday, top Tamil Nadu ministers including Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and actor-politician Kamal Haasan paid a visit to the ailing leader at his Gopalapuram residence. PM Modi, President Kovind also enquired about the health of Karunanidhi and prayed for his speedy recovery.
