New Delhi: A 5.5-magnitude earthquake hit parts of Assam on Wednesday. Earthquake tremors were also felt in Bihar’s Kishanganj, Sahebganj and Hazaribagh. Earlier today, two low-intensity earthquakes of magnitude 4.6 and 3.1 hit Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana’s Jhajjar respectively. Also Read - RPF Jawan Seen Helping Elderly Man Take Bath, Wear Clothes at Bihar's Jamalpur Railway Station

An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 occurred at 5.43 am in Jhajjar, Haryana while an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 on the Richter Scale occurred at 5.15 am in Jammu and Kashmir.

Today earthquake in Jhajjar was the third in the last four days.

On Monday, a medium-intensity earthquake hit Jhajjar. Another medium-intensity earthquake had hit the same location Sunday.

The Himalayan region, the northeast and the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago fall in Zone V of the seismic map of the country and these areas record a high number of seismic activities.
