Rohtak, June 2: A 3.2 magnitude earthquake was felt in Rohtak, Haryana, at 8:13 AM on Friday. This was the second earthquake that shook Haryana today.
An earthquake measuring 4.7 hit Haryana at 4:25 AM. Tremors were felt in parts of Delhi NCR as well as North India. The epicentre was 17 kms from Gohana in Haryana, according to USGS. Gohana is close to Rohtak.
According to USGS, the depth of the quake was 10 kms. There has been no reports of any loss of life and property so far.
The Indian Meteorological Department has pegged the earthquake at 5 on the Richter Scale.
Seismology Department scientist Ved Prakash Thakur informed that the tremors were felt at 4.25 AM. “The magnitude of the earthquake was 5 on Ritcher Scale which is moderate,” he said.
Some people said that the tremors were felt for almost one minute.
