The earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred at 11.46 pm at a depth of five kilometres, it said.

The earthquake prompted people to rush out of their homes in this biting cold. However, the tremors lasted only a few seconds, bringing a sigh of relief to the anxious residents.
