New Delhi: An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 on Richter scale struck Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, news agency ANI reported on Sunday. The tremors, according to the reports, were felt in the afternoon. No damage or casualty has been reported so far. More details are awaited.
Earlier on October 6, an earthquake of magnitude 3.4 on the Richter scale struck Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar region.
Earlier on June 14, an earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter scale hit Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi at 6:12 AM. Earlier, on June 11, a 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck Assam and its adjoining areas. There was no report of any damage or injury after the earthquake hit Assam. The epicentre of the quake was reported to be in Dhing.
