New Delhi, February 26: The voting in Meghalaya for 59 Assembly seats will be held on Tuesday and the results will be declared on March 3. In Meghalaya, there is a tough fight between the Congress and the BJP. The Congress party is fighting for its existence and it is a test for the BJP to get Christian votes in the north-east state.

In Meghalaya, there are 60 Assembly seats but polling will be held on 59 seats as polling for the Willamnagar seat has been postponed after suspected militants killed NCP leader Jonathane N Sangma with an improvised explosive device. (Check out complete details on Meghalaya Assembly Elections)

Here are some details of East Shillong, North Shillong, West Shillong, South Shillong, Mylliem Assembly seats:

East Shillong Assembly Constituency: In East Shillong assembly constituency, polling will be held tomorrow and there is a tough fight between the Congress, BJP. In previous assembly elections, Congress candidate Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh had won from the East Shillong constituency. Neil Antonio War (BJP), Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh (Congress), Romeo Phira Rani (IND), B. M. Lanong (UDP) are some of the candidates contesting from East Shillong assembly constituency.

North Shillong Assembly Constituency: In North Shillong Vidhan Sabha seat there is a tough fight between the Congress and the BJP. In North Shillong the polling will be held on Tuesday. J. Antonius Lyngdoh (BJP), W. Humphrey D. Syngkon (Congress), Joebrenson Marwein (UDP), Alester Neville Diengdoh (HSPDP), Erwin K. Syiem Sutnga (NPP) are some of the candidates contesting from North Shillong assembly constituency.

West Shillong Assembly Constituency: In West Shillong assembly constituency there is a three-way battle between the BJP, Congress. Paul Lyngdoh, is the sitting MLA of West Shillong. In West Shillong, four powerful candidates are in the fray: Mohendro Rapsang (Congress), Donaldson Shanpru (IND), Paul Lyngdoh (UDP) and Havergail Edwina Bareh (NPP).

South Shillong Assembly Constituency: In South Shillong Vidhan Sabha seat there is a tough fight between the Congress and the BJP. In South Shillong the polling will be held on Tuseday. Sanbor Shullai (BJP), Manas Chaudhuri (Congress), Moon Lyngdoh (IND), Vikash Gupta (NCP), Sounder Strong Cajee (NPP) are some of the heavyweights contesting from South Shillong.

Mylliem Assembly Constituency: In Mylliem assembly constituency there is a three-way battle between the BJP, Congress. The sitting MLA of Mylliem assembly constituency is Ronnie V. Lyngdoh (Congress). This time in Mylliem, there are five powerful candidates in fray: Ronnie V Lyngdoh (Congress), Bomber Singh Hynniewta (IND), Campbell Manick Syiem (IND), Ricky Shullai (IND), Samuel Hashah (NCP).
