Chennai, Nov 23: The Election Commission has restored the ‘two leaves’ symbol of the AIADMK for the E Palaniswamy and O Panneerselvam camp. Reports said that Sasikala camp may move the Madras High Court against the poll panel’s verdict. “We’re waiting for the hard copy, but have got information from EC orally that the two leaves symbol has been allotted to us. We’re very happy that we have got the symbol again. A large number of party cadre are supporting EPS and OPS,” said Maitreyan, a senior AIADMK leader  and Rajya Sabha MP.Also Read - Video: Sasikala Visits Jayalalithaa's Memorial For First Time Since Jail Release

Earlier this month, both EPS-OPS as well as the TTV Dhinakaran had filed a written submission in Election Commission in “two leaves” symbol case. The faction, led by party leader TTV Dhinakaran, had filed a 111 page written submission while EPS-OPS faction had filed an 82 page written submission.

The Supreme Court had asked the Election Commission to decide on which of the two factions of the AIADMK should be allowed to use the symbol by November 10.

Following the death of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa in December last year, a battle had broken out between the two factions for the two leaves symbol. Both the factions had approached the Election Commission and asked that the official party symbol be given to it.
