The dates will be announced in a press conference, headed by chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat at the 4th-floor conference hall of Nirvachan Sadan. As soon as Rawat announces the dates for the Assembly elections, the model code of conduct will be come into force in all states. PTI sources in the poll panel claimed that the entire election exercise will be completed by the first week of December. While polls in Chhattisgarh are likely to be held in two phases, other states might see polling in one phase, the sources asserted further. Ahead of the elections, all major political parties have already started making aggressive pitches and luring the voters. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Rajasthan’s Ajmer where he will address a public gathering.
