Militants, believed to be two to three in numbers which are trapped in a house, opened fire, triggering a gunfight which is underway. The counter-terror operation is being jointly carried out by special operations group (SOG) of police, Army’s 44 RR and CRPF troopers. The incident comes a day after security forces released a new hit-list of terrorists which includes top top names from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Al Badr, Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
On Friday, it was reported that the terrorists have released relatives of policemen who they had abducted from various parts in south Kashmir.
At least eight people, which were abducted on Thursday night, were leased on Friday, according to sources.
However, unconfirmed reports said that the total number of kidnapped kin of policemen was 11.
