Mumbai, August 4: If Human Resource Development (HRD) accepts Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) recommendation, Class 12 marks will no more be considered for Engineering admission. However competitive exam for various courses will be held before the general time in year.
CSAB put forward this recommendations after complaints from students and educational institutions about the delay in receiving Class 12 marksheets which further lead to latency in admission processes. CSAB will now recommend the HRD department that entry to professional courses like engineering are give purely on the basis of JEE (Main) scores. According to a TOI report, M P Singh, coordinator of the CSAB from NIT-Patna said, “Many of the 47 higher secondary boards in the country are not sending their scores on time to the CBSE. Some of them are not submitting it in the pro forma given by the board, leading to discrepancies. Keeping in mind students’ interests, we will be asking the apex body to conduct admissions only on the basis of the JEE (Main) scores.”
