New Delhi, May 21: In yet another shocking incident, a woman was allegedly gangraped by four people in a moving car in Etah’s Pilua. The incident took place on May 1 but the police reportedly registered a case against the four accused after 20 days.

According to the reports, the victim was on her way to home from market. She was reportedly waiting for bus when one of the accused, a distant relative stopped his car and offered to drop her home.

The girl in her statement said that four men were already sitting in the car. Instead of dropping her home, they (accused) allegedly took turns to rape her. The men also beat up the girl when she resisted, claimed reports. Meanwhile, a case has been registered in this regard and efforts are underway to nab the accused.

Notably, the incident came nearly a month after a 7-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by a 19-year-old man during a wedding in Etah. The post-mortem report revealed the girl died because of asphyxia and strangulation.

The National Crime Records Bureau data shows that Uttar Pradesh tops the list in crime against women/minors, with around 15% share of total crime against children in the country.
